I see that Slot Car Corner Canada has a stock of the new style pods for the grp5 cars. This may become a point for  discussion in the future. Seeing as how we currently allow stiffening of the pod and securing of the motor on the current pod, a test is required also.

I hate it when manufacturers change things in a class half way through a run. It really spoils a good stock class.

I’d be surprised if it makes much of a difference. The design of the new pods was done to secure the motor more. Since most of us glue that in anyway, the performance should be similar. If we didn’t do any “tuning” then there might be an advantage, but I think testing will prove negligible benefits to the new pods.

I agree John. I think we arrive at the same spot , just through different methods.

It was an issue we dealt with before Sideways came up with a fix.

Still it will need to be tested as the Valley girls say, for sure for sure.
