Registered but did not Start:

  • #67 – BARBA/GAROFALO – Autobianchi Giliberti A112 (S1.3)
  • #24 – FERLAINO/CASTRO – Chevron Ford B19 (S2)

The Piccolo circuit, starting at Floriopoli just north of Cerda would prove enough of a challenge as it did back in the early 1970’s.

Crowds everywhere lined the roadside. Some were lucky to have a front row seat.

Some other entries were registered but did not start the race…Joe Siffert readies himself before the race. He would partner with two other drivers in this edition of the Targa… When the green flag fell Giovanni Scalera was the first away in his Porsche 912. The rest would follow.

  1. I haven’t yet started the Targa Florio III registration thread but will very soon and I’ll move your registrations to it as soon as I do… thanks for registering early JMSracer!
BTW, the #18 Chevron is in the database… (not the model gallery yet though) and the Opel was never raced yet so it will be added when it does…

The Targa III is still not working. I have built a chassis for my Alfa Romeo 33/3’s. Both ran in the 1970 Targa, placing 2nd and 1st. It is interchangeable on both bodies of the following model’s. I will run the #2 car at the upcoming event.
