Spa was happy to host, and like many prior events here(Snowmageddon/Slushmageddon/Rainmageddon), another Meteorological Ménage transpired… 4 Intrepid racers braved the Snow, Sleet, and freezing rain. Alas, MiA was indeed MIA, his racing plans nixed, Easter brunch, avec his beloved 3 Chix… :>)
Gene Vincent could be heard, as the Hot Rods fired up, their pilots Bouffant piled sky high, or slicked back flat and sleek, with some spilled 10W-30.Vroom Vroom Vroom roared the Mandarin Monsoon, and all were left in it’s wake.. Next up, the slightly more refined 50’s ruffians, in their ‘Foreigner’ autos, where the Deutschelanders and Brits battled once again, but in gentlemanly fashion…The #47 (Silver Streak)was Mach Schnell and captured the checkered flag, while a fine Joust between the Shaguars raged. Pilots then stepped into an updated version of the “Wayback” Machine, and into the Future they lept; Classic Lemans, where the smell of Cigarettes’, Cognac, and ‘Free Love’ filled the air…The long serving longtail is still far from long in the tooth, and the herd from Zuffenhaussen chased in vain, with the entry from Marenello showing promise.
Again, our time travelling Pilots stayed in the best era, for racing and Rock’N’Roll, the 70’s, a time when motor racing was dangerous, and sex was safe! A gorgeous and glorious field of March, Tyrell, McLaren and Brabham thrashed through Spa, with Hans and Jackie vying for the Chalice, but Hans was not Stuck(sorry, I had to) and barely pipped the Flying Scotsman… A lovely evening, thanks for braving the elements, see you soon, stay well!
