The 7th edition of the Internationale Meisterschaft would see new models in Sportscars (SP & SP+) and CANAM. Several, including Phil Hill in separate Ferrari 290MMs the Jaguar XK120 of the late S. Diaz and Jim Oldershaw in a Brumos Porsche 917/10 would take to the track each for the first time.

The group descended down into the Green Hell once again. This time for the sixth edition of the Internationale Meisterschaft. A diverse field of returning scratch built entries emerged from their garages for shakedown, faster and race laps. Off track excursions were controlled. Back at the Ferrari factory final preparations were being made in anticipation of the fifth running of the Internationale Meisterschaft. Crowds arrived early but the traffic was a killer.
Some had clever ideas with which to beat the traffic jam... like this Monogram salesperson who just needed a top up of that Sunoco Fuel...
Nevertheless with practice over the grids were formed and although there were enough marshals the penalty imposed for each crash...
