Hard to have a fav as there are so many great ones but the 7 Up Jordan is one of mine.
I’m surprised he didn’t include Russian Roulette…
Pretty cool mini car!
I had to satisfy myself with a battle scarred fire truck, a well thrashed 64? Mustang and a speedboat all powered by foot power either pedalling or once the pedals broke by flintstone style shuffling.
All of the above were rescued by my Dad from the local dump to which they eventually returned after many A-team rolls, blues bros style smash up chases, crap Apple throwing chases and being pushed off the clay cliff James Bond style in our backyard.
If only go pros were a thing in my childhood there would be evidence of the sorry abuse those vehicles endured before their sad demise…
lol!
High tech for the time I suspect!
Haha! New class suggestion?
Nice job so far!
looks like a really nice kit!
Thanks for the heads up Gl will give a listen.
Happy Easter.
and do they eat a colored roll of aluminum foil so they come out wrapped?
Great racing and even greater pictures!
Pit lane decoration is coming together nicely since the last time I was there Kev!
Looks like another great night!
That 70’s grid looks so amazing! And growing each event.
I may have left my rt side intake stacks on the track. Can’t remember if I picked them up after the argy bargy with Jim.
Great pics as always!
Liking the new race report format!
thanks for the compliments on the Honda team.
Hopefully they will have a new car or 2 in the near future…
March 29, 2024 at 1:43 pm in reply to: 2017 International Race of Champions – The Ring – December 20, 2017 #5207Been a busy week but wanted to add my thanks for hosting another great event!
Prizes were a surprise and very generous on your part.
I am now the proud owner of the race run Ferrari PB which I will study with great interest for speed secrets for my own builds.
It ran flawlessly and was able to compete with the quicker Chevron in the middle lane in the later heats
It will be invaluably educating.
Meant to mention I also loved the squirrel in your Christmas tree!
Hope it didn’t give you any trouble ;^)
Thanks again and see you in the new year!
Happy New Year everyone!

March 29, 2024 at 1:43 pm in reply to: Monday, October 30, 2017 (7:30-10:00pm) Hand Painting Driver Detail #4620Hey guys
Looks like we’ll have a good turnout to do some painting.
Here are some of the supplies I recommend. I’ll bring mine so you can see.
Citadel make a great series of paints available from Games Workshop.
the store I go to is near Mavis and Britannia but there are other locations around as well as independant games and model stores that sell them.
https://www.games-workshop.com/en-CA/Games-Workshop-Heartland-Town-Centre
5955 Latimer Dr #2, Mississauga, ON L5V 0B7
These are made primarily for war games figures and they make a variety of matte and glossy colours as well as some nice metalics.
They are water soluble so clean up easily and dry pretty quickly without odor.
Colours I use most often:
Elf Flesh
Undercoat Black
Bestial Brown
Scorched Brown
Skull White
Mechrite Red
Boltgun Metal
Mithriol Silver
Chainmail (silver)
Codex grey
Enchanted blue
Testor’s Paints
I also like to use Testor’s paints for some gloss colours on helmets for example.
They seem to be a little more durable since they are enamel.
Future is also good for clear coating shiney parts like buckles and helmets.
Other supplies:
I like to use several different brush sizes but try to use good quality brushes and they will last a long time and give great results.
Windsor Newton make great brushes of natural hair or Curry’s makes a line of their own branded brushes which are fairly cheap and decent quility.
Try to get sizes such as:
4/0 or 0000 which is very tiny for details this is probaby the smallest brush size you will find.
3/0 or 000 a little larger
as well as larger brushes.
Some brands of brushes come with a clear tube which protects the bristles during shipping.
I keep these and cap my smallest brushes when not in use to make them last.
With proper care and cleaning good brushes should last many years.
Other supplies:
Small bottle caps or containers for mixing custom colours and shades.
Toothpicks for mixing as well as making small dots and details.
Paper towel/tissue for cleanup
Water and thinner.
More info to come.

It was fun and I picked up a few tips myself.
March 29, 2024 at 1:42 pm in reply to: Monday, October 30, 2017 (7:30-10:00pm) Hand Painting Driver Detail #7954I’ve never tried Vallejo paints but would like to.
I particularly like the dropper idea as the citadel paint lids are far from ideal.
I usually use a toothpick to drop paint into a bottle cap.
Michael please post some pics of your figures. We’d love to see them.
thanks
Bill

I had no idea where the photographers came from but have always admired their quality.
Thanks again for posting them!
Cheers

March 29, 2024 at 1:42 pm in reply to: Monday, October 30, 2017 (7:30-10:00pm) Hand Painting Driver Detail #7972I have to say I’m really impressed with your range Michael.
There is a real shortage of 1/32 figures so you can definitely fill a niche market with these.
Whenever I go to the local slot car shows here figures are the first items scooped up if there are any at all.
Do you get them modeled in a CAD package?
March 29, 2024 at 1:42 pm in reply to: Monday, October 30, 2017 (7:30-10:00pm) Hand Painting Driver Detail #8056Thanks for the info Michael
I finally got some time to poke around the Mans&Vans FB page. Great stuff. I love the transporters as well myself and have been tempted to buy some on ebay GB that are 3D printed.
are you the person behind those? They would make a great addition to any 1/32 race team. Not sure why Scalextric haven’t done some proper transporters.
cheers

March 29, 2024 at 1:42 pm in reply to: Monday, October 30, 2017 (7:30-10:00pm) Hand Painting Driver Detail #8116Thanks I don’t get on FB too often but will try and take a look from time to time.
The Bugatti transporter would be great for transporting my type 35.
I’ll also take a look for First Gear trucks. I have a Stake truck that may be from them that I picked up years ago in hopes of using it for a transporter or something.
Cheers
Bill
B/W pics are a nice touch!
Track is looking great KK!
Some great models and some great racing! Thanks again for hosting!

#35 Fly Porsche for backup just in case
Would love to attend but have been having a bad bought of carpal tunnel lately after chopping wood and redoing my backyard patio over the last few weeks.
Happy racing!
Stay safe.

Still a beauty!
Nice trip down memory lane. I also remember quite enjoying the previous incarnation pictured in your avatar image.
Great pics and event. Thanks again for organizing it Art. It was good to see the group again.
Great day racing! Some beautiful cars on track and off.
Many thanks to MVL for the use of their track.
Another fun day at a magnificent venue.
Thanks again for organizing it Art.
That new Ferrari looks fantastic!
Nice job!
Fun event as always. Thanks again for hosting.
I meant to share this photo on the night.
Great getting out to MVL again. Thx for putting it all together.
Crazy 88’s or Spaghetti Junction.
Looks challenging Ken!
Lol that would work.
I was trying to play off a plane reference ‘lazy eight’ along with a car reference ‘delta 88’ as well as the obvious nested eights of the layout.
I noticed that lazy eight is also a name the Infiniti sign so Infinity Raceway (also a real racetrack) or Infinity and Beyond raceway might work as well.
Let me over think this…
Bill
Looking great so far Ken! Bet you can’t wait to do some running on it!
Glad to hear you’re on the mend Ken.
Hope you have a quick recovery.
Track is looking great!
Nice progress!
looks like a neck turner 😉
Another great day of racing! Thanks for organizing it Art and to MVL for hosting our cantankerous bunch ;).
It’s a beauty!!!

March 28, 2024 at 10:47 pm in reply to: REGISTRATION – Targa Florio XII – Nova Ridge Oct 24, 2022 #30601Thx Jim. I started a thread on the building build so I will update as I proceed.
thx for hosting the Targa Art! Another fun night of Targa recreation!
Looks great Ken! Wish I could keep my work areas that clean and organized. I’ve tried but whenever I organize things I forget where they are 😉
I think I would have forgotten the plastic wrap and made a big mess. Love the new tv stand!
I need to start saving my large spice containers for landscaping materials! Thanks again for hosting on another great track!
Nice setup! Looking forward to the test race!
Looks like a great day. Sorry I missed it. See you at the next race!
Nice work! The abandoned rail line is a unique and interesting addition.
Nice shots! Wish I’d had some nicer sports cars in the background at the time 😉
Sounds like a grand old time.
wish I could have made it out.
next time!
Great fun! Thanks for hosting. It was fun to get these vintage cars out for a few laps.
that vette in the back also looks huge!
Nice build MIA!
Sorry I couldn’t make it this time. Had a prior commitment to go to the vintage race at Mosport.
I’m calling this one done, for now…
Finally got round to doing the interior and the paint detail.
I saw that Jag kit at Michael’s a while back and meant to pick one up.
is the body all one piece or did you assemble and paint it?
A gaggle of hot rods are being loaded into the team transporter early today on their way to the Ring.
Making their debut will be Reginald ‘The Rebel’ Rooster driving ‘Flew ‘T’he Coop’ and Col. Harland Sanders driving his newly minted ‘Kentucky Bucket’
Thanks again for hosting Art.
it was great to see the variety of cars everyone has come up with.
Looks great DB!
Good times! Thx again for hosting!
This is a close up of the shock restrictor plate hole. I trimmed about 2mm from the front edge of the hole on the right centre of the picture. Had to also reroute the motor wiring slightly.
Here’s a shot of the chassis:
Sorry I missed the show.
Funnily enough I just finished building a Ferrari SWB that I’ve had on the bench for quite some time.
I’ll bring it on Saturday for a shakedown.
Great info!
thanks for posting.
Wow! Looks great Art! Sorry I missed it.
Nice looking track! I look forward to trying it out some time.
I think they’ll both benefit.
No excuses at the factory now if the car is too slow though.
Either way they’ll both make a crapload more $$$!
That’s quite the build! Zombie apocalypsemobile?
Nice job Van! I had the same thought when I rematched that classic recently.
Beautiful job!
Wow! This is looking pretty great!
I considered making a chassis like this for my Hemi Under Glass but with a clip that I could hold it down with for racing vs wheelstanding.
Thanks for setting this up Art.
Hopefully this will make it easier to track and share research info.
cheers
Bill
Nice job!
Nicely done!
Nice job!
A shame to lose such a talent. May he Rest In Peace.
Happy New Year gents!
Should be a good one!
Looks great but I think I’d prefer mine separate tbh…
Pretty cool!
Interesting!
Strombecker actually made a version of this car
Nice Kits Ken.
Funny that the attendance was more.
It seemed a lot less crowded this year.good show though! I managed to pick up a few nice kits.
Nice looking build!
Thx guys!
Now to get started on the chassis for its brethren.
One last pic.
Flew ‘T’he Coop is a little quicker than my original Rus’T’.
After a successful shakedown at Nova Ridge.
Nice job GI!
Both on the build and finding a new livery.
I had never seen that version.
Here’s a neat trick. Flip up body!
Just needs some tire truing and a good shakedown and it should be good to go!
With its siblings…
Well I think I’m calling this one done!
I’ve always been interested in rail racing.
I have an old Model Maker magazine somewhere with an article on electric rail racing from back in the day.
I also recall a group in Britain who run a proxy rail race in recent years.
It is basically the beginnings of both RC and slot car racing.
